Automatic Renewal of IBM Software Maintenance

Automatic renewal of Software Maintenance came into effect on the customers first Anniversary after May 23rd, 2005, for all software licenses with Software Maintenance Coverage. This model has been implemented at the request of some customers to avoid the potential risks of not being covered under software maintenance. Specifically loss of support and additional costs to buy back into the program. 

IBM will continue to send you Software Maintenance renewal quotes based on the software you purchased or renewed in the previous year prior to your Passport Advantage Anniversary. However, if they do not receive a renewal payment from you or your Business Partner before your Anniversary, your Software Maintenance coverage will be renewed and you will be billed the full amount of the quote IBM sent out. Under this new model a desire to stop maintenance on a particular product requires written notification to IBM. IBM's PPA conditions state that once you have received the invoice, and if you do not contact IBM or a business partner, the payment will be due according to the terms of their invoice.  

ISIS recognize that for many organisations, changes to the volumes of software that is required each year is common place. IBM's announcement outlining these changes stresses the critical and proactive role that ISIS as a business partner will play for customers under this new model.
